Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled QA Tester to join our team in Hartford, CT. This is a hybrid role with a duration of 12+ months contract. The ideal candidate will be a local resident of Connecticut.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow the core technology and architecture for automated testing of large-scale distributed systems, midrange to client-server, and n-tier e-commerce applications and solutions.
  • Automate the testing of applications according to specifications.
  • Contribute to all test automation components of the solution and create/maintain necessary technical documentation.
  • Implement developed strategies for end-to-end system testing.
  • Assist in all testing processes related to the migration and integration of new and legacy technologies.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Show a proven ability to deliver both business and technical value.
  • Maintain a high level of organization, proactivity, and self-direction, with the ability to perform with minimal supervision.
  • Exhibit strong abstract thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Adhere to and correctly apply testing standards and strategies.
  • Interface with users, sponsors, and all other stakeholders to understand and meet their evolving needs.
  • Follow established standards for automated testing software, policies, and execution.
  • Review all system requirements, test scripts, and test scenarios to create an appropriate testing workflow, ensuring consistency, completeness, correctness, and operational definition of high-level requirements.
  • Collaborate with the development group, Product Owners, System Teams, and Operations to define the best overall testing strategies, best practices, and techniques for automated testing.
  • Liaise with design and implementation teams to resolve any QA issues in accordance with fundamental design concepts, user needs, and constraints.
  • Contribute to a set of acceptance test requirements, in conjunction with project teams and users, to verify that all high-level requirements are met, particularly for the human-computer interface.
  • Generate products such as unit tests, automated functional tests, regression tests, load tests, code coverage reports, and test scenario pass/fail rates, ADA/508c/AWGA compliance, Cross Browser Compatibility, and Mobile Compatibility reports.
  • Ensure all testing libraries and artifacts are maintained in the most current state and are never allowed to become obsolete.
  • Be responsible for creating automated test case scenarios for the Agile Delivery Team to meet Acceptance Criteria.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience with the Azure DevOps suite (Azure Boards, Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines, Azure Test Plans, Azure Artifacts).
  • 5+ years of experience in automated testing with UFT (Unified Functional Testing) and VBScript or another programming language.
  • 5+ years of experience with Automated Testing Frameworks, Manual Testing, Test Methodologies, Test Strategies, and Test Beds.
  • 5+ years of experience with Agile Methodologies.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining UI, Back End, API, and Hardware Test Automation.
  • Involvement in a minimum of two large-scale Agile software development projects.
  • Knowledge of Testing Tools, Testing Frameworks, and Continuous Integration Methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Web Application Testing, Distributed System Testing, Performance Testing, Regression Testing, Database Testing, Mobile Testing, Security Testing, Accessibility Testing, and Web Service Testing.
  • Familiarity with .Net, SharePoint, and Salesforce.
  • Knowledge of Data Modeling and Database Design is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Application Modeling and Design.
  • Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architectures.
  • Experience with automated testing in enterprise system integration projects and initiatives, including understanding and implementing enterprise integration patterns.
  • Thorough understanding of standard QA best practices in an Agile environment, including authoring test plans and test cases, executing tests, and tracking issues to closure.
  • Good understanding of DevOps and setting up Continuous Integration Environments.
  • Experience in Test-Driven Development and associated tools and techniques.
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented design principles and design patterns.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with QA Functional test suites such as Unified Functional Testing.
  • Working knowledge of automated testing for C#, WCF, jQuery, XML, JSON, WebApi, SOAP, .NET, and JavaScript.
  • Testing experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, WCF) and tools like SOAPUI.
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technology degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Salesforce.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Experience with the .Net Framework.
  • Knowledge of Virtualized Hosting Environments.
  • Knowledge of .Net, SharePoint, and Mulesoft.
  • Knowledge of .Net and SharePoint.
  • SQL proficiency.

Local candidate of Connecticut Only. Hybrid role.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $50,000 – $90,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Hartford, CT
