Job Summary:
The Georgia Dept. of Labor (GDOL) is seeking a skilled and experienced Quality Analyst (Tester) for a contract position. This role involves writing test cases, testing applications, validating results, and identifying/logging bugs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of testing Java programming language and JCL on IBM/DELL mainframe operating systems. This is a consulting position offering a challenging opportunity to contribute to critical projects and enhance technical skills in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze business requirements and develop detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
- Perform testing activities for Java programs on distributed platforms.
- Execute test program changes, update test files, run tests, review results, and ensure the correctness of program changes based on provided requirements.
- Hands-on experience with Jira tool.
- Prepare both program-level and user-level documentation to support the software development lifecycle.
- Organize, manage, and provide clear guidance to teams to reach testing goals and tight deadlines with candor, transparency, and collaboration.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Testing Java programs.
- Proven experience with DB2 and Postgres.
- Solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including writing test cases, execution of test cases, integration testing, and deployment.
- Ability to troubleshoot, test, and debug computer software to produce required outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills to support non-database functions, correct data errors, and develop data analysis/summary reports.
- Experience in preparing comprehensive documentation for both program-level and user-level.
- Excellent communication skills to obtain user sign-off on all changes prior to moving to production.
- Capability to follow organization guidelines and procedures for checking out source code, migrating changes, etc.
- Commitment to enhancing software for improved efficiency and reduced operating time.
Good to have / Skills:
- Java programming knowledge.
- AWS hands-on experience.
- Kofax.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $50,000 – $100,000 per year (Estimated)
