Role Overview
VY Systems Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced React Developer to join our dynamic engineering team. This role is pivotal in leading the design and implementation of high-quality, performant front-end applications that define our user experience. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for shaping the UI architecture, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including product management, design, and backend engineering. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the front-end architecture and develop complex, reusable React components and custom hooks to ensure a modular and maintainable codebase.
- Drive state management patterns using Redux or similar libraries to ensure predictable data flows across large-scale applications, focusing on performance and state persistence.
- Integrate RESTful APIs and handle complex JSON payloads, optimizing network interactions for performance and reliability using modern fetching strategies.
- Enforce strict coding standards and conduct thorough code reviews to maintain high code quality and consistency across the entire development lifecycle.
- Improve test coverage by implementing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using Jest, React Testing Library, or Enzyme, ensuring a bug-free user experience.
- Partner with UI/UX designers to implement responsive and accessible user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and modern component libraries like Material UI or React Bootstrap.
- Champion performance and accessibility best practices, ensuring compliance with WCAG/ADA standards to provide an inclusive experience for all users.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, helping to define user stories, acceptance criteria, and release plans while maintaining a high velocity of delivery.
Architectural Vision and Mentorship

Technical Requirements
- 6 to 10+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 4 years focused on React.js at scale in an enterprise environment.
- Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with deep knowledge of ES6+ patterns and React internals such as the Virtual DOM and Reconciliation.
- Proven experience with Redux, component composition, and performance optimization techniques like code-splitting and lazy loading.
- Strong fundamentals in front-end engineering, including semantic HTML, modern CSS (Flexbox, Grid), and responsive design principles.
- Hands-on experience with testing frameworks (Jest, RTL, Enzyme) and CI/CD integration to ensure continuous delivery of high-quality code.
- Proficiency with Git workflows and comfort working in an Agile/Scrum environment with tools like Jira and Confluence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Next.js for server-side rendering and advanced charting or grid libraries such as agGrid, Recharts, or Highcharts for data visualization.
- Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments with complex cross-functional dependencies and strict security protocols.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor and lead technical teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
This position is available in San Leandro, CA and Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be prepared for an in-person interview and a Day 1 onsite presence. Local candidates are strongly preferred for these locations to ensure seamless collaboration with the local engineering hubs.
