Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced React Native Developer Lead to provide technical leadership and oversee daily mobile engineering operations. This role involves defining and driving the mobile architecture strategy, leading the design and development of scalable, high-performance mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript. You will be instrumental in architecting modular, reusable component systems, scalable state management solutions (Redux, Zustand, Context API), and designing clean navigation and deep linking strategies. The position requires implementing secure authentication flows, driving native module integrations (Swift, Kotlin) for various SDKs, and optimizing mobile performance. You will also establish CI/CD pipelines, lead app release management, ensure adherence to security best practices, and partner with backend teams to define API contracts. A key aspect of this role is championing automated testing (Jest, React Native Testing Library, Detox) and fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and oversee daily mobile engineering operations.
- Define and drive the mobile architecture strategy aligned with business goals.
- Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript.
- Architect modular, reusable component systems and scalable state management solutions (Redux, Zustand, Context API).
- Design clean navigation, deep linking, and mobile routing strategies (React Navigation, Expo Router).
- Implement secure authentication flows (OAuth/OIDC, biometrics, secure storage, token lifecycle management).
- Drive native module integrations (Swift, Kotlin) for SDKs such as payments, fraud detection, analytics, push notifications, and device security.
- Optimize mobile performance, including startup time, bundle size, memory usage, and rendering performance, as well as offline caching.
- Establish CI/CD pipelines for mobile (Fastlane, EAS Build, App Store Connect, Google Play Console).
- Lead app release management, versioning strategy, and store compliance.
- Ensure adherence to mobile security best practices, privacy compliance, and accessibility standards.
- Partner with backend teams to define API contracts and optimize mobile-backend interactions.
- Champion automated testing (Jest, React Native Testing Library, Detox) and code quality standards.
- Mentor engineers and foster a culture of ownership, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in architecture reviews and roadmap planning for long-term mobile platform scalability.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience building production-grade apps using React Native and TypeScript.
- Deep understanding of the Expo ecosystem (EAS, OTA updates, build pipelines, native configuration).
- Expertise in mobile architecture patterns (Clean Architecture, MVVM, modular architecture).
- Experience integrating native iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) modules into React Native apps.
- Strong understanding of app lifecycle, memory management, threading, and performance tuning.
- Experience implementing push notifications, deep linking, analytics SDKs, and mobile security frameworks.
- Familiarity with authentication flows (OIDC, PKCE, secure token handling).
- Experience with API integrations (REST, GraphQL) and handling network resiliency/offline-first design.
- Strong understanding of mobile DevOps, CI/CD, and release governance.
- Experience collaborating in Agile environments and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to balance hands-on development with strategic architectural leadership.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10 years of software development experience.
- 6 years of hands-on mobile development experience.
- 4 years leading React Native applications in production environments.
- Proven experience delivering apps to both Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
- Experience working with cloud-based backends (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps best practices.
- Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring engineers and guiding technical direction.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make strategic architectural decisions balancing business and technical needs.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $124,800 – $124,800 per year (Estimated)
