Role Overview
The Real Time Payments QE Lead is a pivotal position within our financial technology division, responsible for ensuring the absolute reliability and performance of our next-generation payment processing systems. As the global financial landscape moves toward instantaneous settlement, the complexity of testing these systems has increased exponentially. This role requires a seasoned Quality Engineering professional with over a decade of experience who can navigate the intersection of high-speed transaction processing, complex messaging protocols, and cloud-native architecture. You will be at the forefront of the ‘Real-Time’ revolution, ensuring that every transaction is processed with 100% accuracy and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end quality engineering strategy for Real-Time Payment (RTP) and FedNow initiatives, focusing on high-availability and low-latency requirements.
- Coordinate and manage testing activities across distributed teams, providing leadership to both onshore and offshore resources to ensure seamless execution of the test plan.
- Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated API testing frameworks, with a specific emphasis on .NET API environments to validate complex financial data structures.
- Implement robust automation suites using TestComplete and other industry-standard tools to facilitate continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Collaborate closely with Azure architects to validate cloud-native components, ensuring that the infrastructure can handle peak transaction volumes without degradation.
- Perform deep-dive functional testing of payment rails, including the validation of ISO 20022 messaging standards and clearing/settlement logic.
- Analyze business requirements and technical specifications to create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices.
- Identify, document, and track software defects to resolution, working closely with development teams to perform root cause analysis.
- Provide regular status reports to stakeholders, highlighting risks, mitigation strategies, and overall quality metrics.
- Mentor junior QE members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
Technical Requirements and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 to 12 years of professional experience in Quality Engineering. A significant portion of this experience (3-4 years) must be in a leadership or coordination capacity, specifically managing the dynamics between onshore and offshore teams. Technical proficiency in API testing is mandatory, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked extensively with .NET APIs. Automation experience is equally critical, requiring 3 to 4 years of hands-on work with tools like TestComplete. From a domain perspective, a background in Banking and functional knowledge of Payments is highly desirable, as it allows the lead to understand the business context of the technical tests. Experience with Azure technologies is considered a major advantage, as our systems are increasingly leveraging cloud-native services for scalability and resilience. Excellent communication skills are a must, as this role requires constant interaction with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The Future of Payments
Joining this team means working on the cutting edge of financial technology. Real-time payments are not just a trend; they are the new standard for global commerce. By leading the QE efforts for these systems, you are ensuring the stability of the financial infrastructure that millions of people and businesses rely on every day. We offer a collaborative environment where innovation is encouraged, and where your expertise will directly impact the success of our most strategic initiatives.
Special Requirements
Banking project experience required; Functional knowledge in Payments domain; Experience coordinating onshore/offshore teams.
