Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Release Manager to oversee the planning, scheduling, and controlling of builds and releases across various platforms and projects. The Release Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the release process is efficient, well-documented, and meets the needs of the business. This role requires a strong understanding of software development lifecycles, change management, and cross-functional team coordination. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing complex release schedules and mitigating risks associated with software deployments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a detailed release schedule for all software releases, coordinating with development, QA, operations, and business teams.
  • Define and implement release management processes and procedures to ensure consistency and quality across all deployments.
  • Facilitate release readiness reviews, including go/no-go decisions, and ensure all stakeholders are informed of the release status.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with software releases, developing contingency plans as needed.
  • Manage the change control process, ensuring all changes are properly documented, approved, and tracked.
  • Coordinate with various teams to ensure that all release dependencies are identified and managed.
  • Maintain a release calendar and communicate upcoming releases to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Work closely with development and operations teams to automate and streamline the release process.
  • Conduct post-release reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement lessons learned.
  • Ensure that all release documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Manage communication between development, QA, and production support teams during the release process.
  • Track and report on key release metrics, such as release success rate, lead time for changes, and deployment frequency.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 18 years of experience in Release Management, Software Development, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing complex software release cycles in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and DevOps principles.
  • Excellent knowledge of change management best practices and tools.
  • Experience with build and deployment automation tools is a plus.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with various operating systems and platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
