Opportunity: Senior Analytics Engineer (Looker/dbt)
R Consulting Inc (RCI) is looking for two Senior Analytics Engineers (IC5 level) to join a high-profile data team in New York City. This is a transformative 6-month initial contract focused on a massive migration project as our client prepares for global launches with Google and Samsung. You will be at the forefront of moving a legacy reporting ecosystem from Oracle to a modern stack powered by Looker and dbt.
Core Responsibilities
- Architect the LookML layer from scratch, including Models, Explores, and Views, to enable enterprise-wide self-service analytics.
- Transform complex legacy logic from Oracle into modular, performant, and clean dbt models.
- Ensure ‘Finance-Grade’ engineering by implementing rigorous change management and audit controls for financial reporting.
- Act as a technical consultant on SQL development strategies and the integration of AI tools to accelerate delivery.
- Partner with NYC-based leadership to translate high-level business objectives into scalable technical data products.
- Maintain data integrity and traceability to meet strict financial audit requirements.
Technical Requirements
- 5-10 years of deep experience with relational databases and complex data ecosystems.
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL, dbt, and Looker.
- Proven experience in data modeling for large-scale, high-stakes environments.
- Background in the Finance domain, with a strong understanding of auditability and data governance.
- Ability to articulate architectural choices and lead technical discussions with stakeholders.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
