Job Summary:
The State of North Carolina Families Accessing Services through Technology (NCFAST) is seeking a highly skilled Oracle PL/SQL and Microsoft Azure Synapse developer. This role will focus on providing business and system analysis, modeling, design, development, and maintenance of Medicaid reporting solutions and semantic models. The developer will collaborate closely with the NC FAST internal business team and the Medicaid team to develop new reports, maintain existing reporting code for enhancements based on the business backlog, and assist in fixing defects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Medicaid reporting solutions and semantic models.
- Provide business and system analysis, modeling, and design for reporting systems.
- Develop new reports based on business requirements and backlog.
- Maintain and enhance existing reporting code.
- Fix defects identified in the reporting backlog.
- Work closely with NC FAST internal business team and Medicaid team.
Technical Requirements:
- Strong understanding of relational databases (including tables, views, indexes, table spaces, users, grants).
- 5+ years of Oracle PL/SQL experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Business Intelligence and reporting tools (BIRT) and understanding of IBM Curam framework data and tables for product delivery cases and financial reporting.
- Strong working knowledge of building data analytics solutions using Azure Synapse serverless SQL pools.
- Demonstrated experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, including Synapse pipelines, SQL pools, and Spark pools.
- 1-2 years of experience utilizing Python, PySpark, and SparkSQL on Azure Cloud.
- Experience configuring, designing, developing, and testing dashboards using Power BI.
- Experience with design, build, and management of data warehouses.
- Experience with structured system development methodologies.
- Experience in using Oracle, Oracle Utilities, ETL tools such as Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) or Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
- Strong SQL scripting and Relational Database modeling skills.
- Experience in programming and design of large-scale web-based distributed systems.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Business Objects or BIRT (2 years).
- Data Warehouse experience (2 years).
- Experience with the Curam product (4 years).
- Strong SQL Skill (2 years).
Additional Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor other reporting developers in data integration efforts.
- Utilize ETL design patterns, error handling, and configurations.
- Ability to develop relationships/partnerships with customers by responding to needs and exhibiting a sense of urgency; independently identify options.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow complex and/or detailed technical procedures.
