Job Title: RPG Programmer / IBM iSeries RPG Developer
We are seeking an experienced IBM iSeries RPG Developer to design, develop, and maintain database-driven applications on the IBM iSeries platform. The ideal candidate will work with large transactional datasets and implement complex business logic using RPG and embedded SQL in a high-volume enterprise environment. This is a hybrid role based in Houston, TX.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain database-driven applications on the IBM iSeries platform using RPG and embedded SQL.
- Implement and support complex business logic within RPG-based applications.
- Work with large transactional tables and optimize performance of database operations.
- Read, analyze, and modify existing RPGIV, RPGLE, and RPGFree programs.
- Support applications interacting with front-end systems via REST APIs and JSON integrations.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance existing applications to improve performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Expert-level experience with RPG and embedded SQL on the IBM iSeries platform (Mandatory).
- Strong experience working with RPGIV, RPGLE, and RPGFree.
- Experience with IBM development tools such as Aldon, RDI, and ACS.
- Experience integrating applications with REST APIs and JSON-based services.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience working in large enterprise environments.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with financial close processes such as Revenue and JIB.
- Exposure to Python and microservices architecture.
- Experience using VS Code IDE.
- Experience with Git for source control and version management.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 per year (Estimated)
