Position Summary: SailPoint Identity IQ Developer

The SailPoint Identity IQ (IIQ) Developer is a specialized role focused on the design, development, and implementation of Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions. In an era of increasing cyber threats and stringent regulatory requirements, the SailPoint Developer plays a vital role in ensuring that only the right individuals have access to the right resources at the right time. This position requires a blend of software engineering skills and a deep understanding of security protocols, governance, and compliance frameworks. You will be responsible for building the infrastructure that manages user identities throughout their entire lifecycle within the organization.

Key Responsibilities and Technical Scope

The primary focus of this role is the implementation, configuration, and customization of the SailPoint IIQ platform. You will be deeply involved in Access Request processes, Certification campaigns, and Provisioning workflows. By automating User Life Cycle Management (Joiner, Mover, Leaver processes), you will help the organization reduce manual errors and improve security posture. The role involves creating custom rules, forms, and workflows using Beanshell and Java to meet specific business logic requirements that are not available out-of-the-box.

Technical Requirements and Development Tasks

  • Design and develop SailPoint IIQ integration connectors for various target systems including LDAP, Active Directory, and cloud-based applications.
  • Implement and customize User Life Cycle Management processes, including automated provisioning and de-provisioning.
  • Develop custom workflows, rules (Beanshell), and forms to streamline access request and approval processes.
  • Configure and manage Access Certifications to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (SOX, GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Utilize web services frameworks such as REST and SOAP to integrate SailPoint with other enterprise systems.
  • Work with Java, Spring, J2EE, and Apache Tomcat to maintain and enhance the IAM environment.
  • Perform SQL programming for data analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting within the SailPoint database schema.
  • Collaborate with security architects to define and implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) models.
  • Conduct unit testing and support system integration testing for all IAM-related developments.

Strategic Importance of IAM

As a SailPoint Developer, you are not just writing code; you are building a security perimeter. You will work closely with stakeholders across IT, HR, and Legal to ensure that identity governance is integrated into the fabric of the company. This includes participating in audit support, performing root cause analysis for identity-related incidents, and staying current with the latest SailPoint patches and versions. Your expertise in AJAX, HTTP, and XML will be leveraged to create a seamless and intuitive user experience for employees requesting access, while maintaining the highest levels of security and compliance.
