Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Business Analyst with a strong background in financial services, specifically private equity, to join our client’s team in New York, NY. This is a hybrid role with long-term potential, focusing on data migration, requirements documentation, and stakeholder engagement within the Salesforce ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead data migration initiatives into Salesforce, ensuring accurate mapping of companies, contacts, and business entities to Salesforce objects.
  • Develop and maintain Excel-based data mapping files using advanced formulas (VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, pivot tables, data validation) for comprehensive field analysis, de-duplication, and data quality resolution.
  • Author clear, detailed requirements documentation, including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), and user stories with technical permutations and acceptance criteria.
  • Create and manage JIRA tickets (Epics, Stories, Tasks) that precisely define scope and enable developers to build solutions without ambiguity.
  • Collaborate closely with software developers and QA engineers to understand deployment processes, sequence work effectively, and meet project deadlines.
  • Engage directly with internal business stakeholders to thoroughly understand their processes, workflows, and data needs, translating these into structured, actionable deliverables.
  • Take meticulous meeting notes and transform them into actionable documentation and open item trackers.
  • Support multiple concurrent initiatives, effectively balancing priorities across various workstreams.
  • Develop presentations and craft effective status communications for leadership and project stakeholders.
  • Prototype reports and dashboards within Salesforce to validate proposed solutions with business users.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a significant portion in financial services, private equity, or alternative investments.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Salesforce platform, including a solid understanding of its objects, data model, CRM concepts, reports, and dashboards.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including formulas (VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, XLOOKUP), pivot tables, conditional formatting, and data validation. Must be adept at building data mapping files rather than hard-coding values.
  • Proven experience in data mapping and data migration, including source-to-target mapping, data profiling, data quality remediation, and de-duplication.
  • Experience in creating requirements documentation such as BRDs, FRDs, and user stories with detailed permutations and acceptance criteria.
  • Proficiency in JIRA for creating and managing Epics, Stories, and Tasks, including backlog grooming and supporting sprint planning.
  • Experience with SQL or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for data analysis and reporting.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to business stakeholders and write clear, concise emails.
  • A self-directed work style, with the ability to identify gaps, proactively resolve issues, and deliver complete work with minimal oversight.
  • Must be US-based and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Availability to work onsite in Manhattan several days per month, up to 4+ days per week in the office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Salesforce Administrator.
  • Direct experience working within a Private Equity firm, hedge fund, or alternative investment manager.
  • Understanding of fund structures, investor relations, capital calls, or fund operations.
  • Experience with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud or Experience Cloud.
  • Experience with data governance or data quality management initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Data Loader or similar data import tools.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced consulting environment.
