Role Overview

The Salesforce Life Sciences Solution Architect is a high-level strategic role responsible for the design, governance, and implementation of Labcorp’s Patient Central CRM ecosystem. This solution is built on the Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud and is specifically designed to support Decentralized Clinical Trials (DCT). As the lead architect, you will be the primary authority on the end-to-end architectural blueprint, ensuring that every component—from initial study setup to ongoing patient engagement—is scalable, secure, and seamlessly integrated with enterprise-wide systems. You will play a critical role in transforming how clinical trials are conducted by leveraging cutting-edge cloud technology to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architectural Design & Governance: Lead the design of complex, multi-cloud solutions on the Salesforce platform, specifically leveraging Life Sciences Cloud, Health Cloud, and Service Cloud. You will ensure that the architecture is robust enough to handle the high-volume data requirements of global clinical trials.
  • Workflow Optimization: Define and refine end-to-end workflows for Study Setup, Study Conduct, and Patient Engagement. This includes optimizing appointment scheduling, consent management, automated notifications, and kit order workflows.
  • Integration Strategy: Design and govern high-level integration patterns for critical systems such as Zavacor (CTMS), Kit Production Systems (KPS), and Cisco CTI. You will ensure data integrity across all touchpoints.
  • Data Architecture: Lead data mapping and modeling efforts for large-scale study data ingestion, participant information, and visit schedules. You will be responsible for the integrity of file-based ingestion flows and real-time data processing.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure all architectural decisions align with HIPAA and GDPR regulations, as well as internal IT security policies. You will be responsible for role-based access modeling and maintaining comprehensive audit trails.

Technical Ecosystem & Innovation

In this role, you will operate within a sophisticated technical environment that demands a deep understanding of the Salesforce ecosystem. You will be expected to leverage Salesforce Data Cloud for real-time insights and AI-readiness, ensuring the platform can support future enhancements in predictive analytics and automated patient communication. Your expertise in API-based architectures and complex workflow automation will be vital in maintaining a future-ready design. You will also be responsible for validating the functional feasibility of new requirements and identifying gaps in the current architecture to drive continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Leadership

Success in this role requires exceptional cross-functional collaboration. You will partner closely with Labcorp stakeholders, including Business Analysts, Project Managers, IT Security teams, and Study Teams, to ensure that technical solutions are perfectly aligned with business goals. Furthermore, you will work in tandem with TCS program leadership and Salesforce Customer Success teams to ensure smooth delivery and platform adoption. As a senior leader, you will mentor junior architects and developers, enforcing coding standards and platform limits to maintain the health of the Salesforce environment.

Professional Requirements

  • Extensive experience in Salesforce Architecture within a highly regulated Life Sciences or Healthcare environment.
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering enterprise-scale CRM solutions for complex organizations.
  • Deep understanding of clinical trial operations, including decentralized clinical trials (DCT), patient engagement, and kit management.
  • Active Salesforce certifications such as Certified Application Architect, System Architect, or Health Cloud Specialist.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to steer high-level architecture discussions with executive stakeholders.

Special Requirements

Domain restriction: Life Sciences and Decentralized Clinical Trials (DCT). Requires deep expertise in HIPAA and GDPR compliance within Salesforce environments.
