Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced SAP BTP RAP Consultant to join our client’s team for a contract position. This role is crucial for designing, developing, and deploying innovative applications within the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) environment, leveraging the SAP Restful ABAP Programming Model (RAP). The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in RAP, CDS views, OData V4 services, and Fiori Elements, with a solid understanding of cloud-native principles and integration with SAP and non-SAP systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy applications using SAP BTP Environment and SAP RAP.
- Implement RAP behavior definitions, CDS views, service bindings, service definitions, draft handling, and transactional processing.
- Build end-to-end OData V4 services using RAP and integrate them with UI frameworks like Fiori Elements and UI5.
- Develop reusable CDS artifacts, business logic, and extensibility frameworks within the BTP ecosystem.
- Integrate SAP BTP applications with S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP Cloud Integration (CPI), Event Mesh, Destination Service, and other BTP services.
- Optimize application performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with SAP clean core and cloud-ready coding practices.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, functional consultants, and DevOps teams to design secure and scalable solutions.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and design specifications.
- Contribute to architecture discussions and provide technical guidance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in SAP RAP (managed and unmanaged scenarios), CDS Views, Annotations, Behaviors, and Metadata Extensions.
- Proficiency in OData V4 services and Fiori Elements consumption.
- Proven experience integrating BTP applications with S/4HANA, CPI, API Management, Event Mesh, Destination Service, and Identity Authentication Service (IAS)/Identity Provisioning Service (IPS).
- Solid understanding of cloud-native principles, multi-tenant applications, and deployment on SAP BTP.
- Experience with Git-enabled Change and Transport System (gCTS) or ABAP Git.
- Essential Skills: SAP BTP, BTP Workzone Advanced Edition, ABAP.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP Fiori development and UI5.
- Knowledge of SAP Integration Suite (CPI).
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
