Job Description: SAP CPI HRIS Integrations Engineer

We are looking for a skilled SAP CPI HRIS Integrations Engineer for a 100% remote contract position. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, developing, and deploying complex integration solutions within SAP environments, with a strong focus on HRIS and payroll systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement SAP Integrations: Design, develop, and deploy complex integration solutions using SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration), including iFlows, Groovy scripting, Payroll ABAP development, Point to Point integration (BADI) extensions, and adapter configurations. This will constitute approximately 50% of the role, focusing on design and enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot and Debug Integration Issues: Analyze and resolve integration errors, performance bottlenecks, and other technical issues. This will involve approximately 50% of the role dedicated to production support, monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with business analysts, architects, and other developers to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure successful integration deployments.
  • Document Integration Solutions: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, configuration guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Perform Unit and Integration Testing: Develop and execute test plans to ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of integration solutions.
  • Monitor and Maintain Integrations: Proactively monitor integration performance, identify and address potential issues, and ensure the ongoing stability of the integration landscape.
  • Implement Best Practices: Adhere to industry best practices, coding standards, development methodologies, and security guidelines for all integration development.

Must-Have Technical Experience:

  • Hands-on expertise with SAP CPI: iFlows, Groovy scripting, adapter configuration, error handling, and deployment lifecycle management.
  • Significant experience with HRIS Payroll ABAP development and point-to-point integration BADI extensions.
  • Proven experience with HRIS replication and related integration patterns.
  • Demonstrated track record of debugging complex integration issues and improving performance in enterprise environments.
  • Availability to work within the MST time zone.

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for integrations (e.g., transport governance, version control).
  • Familiarity with integration observability practices and secure credentials management.
  • Knowledge of common HR/Payroll data flows and downstream consumers (e.g., analytics, finance, compliance).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5-8 years of relevant professional experience.
  • SAP CPI and/or SAP Integration Suite certifications are preferred.
  • ABAP certification or equivalent hands-on expertise is a plus.
