Role Overview

The SAP S/4HANA EAM Lead is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) capabilities within SAP S/4HANA, with a strong focus on work management, detailed scheduling, and integrated MRO supply chain execution. This role plays a critical part in connecting maintenance operations, warehouse execution, and procurement to ensure high asset availability, efficient maintenance execution, and optimized inventory management.

This role requires deep hands-on expertise in S/4HANA Asset Management, work order planning and scheduling, and directed warehouse processes for MRO parts, along with strong integration knowledge of SAP Ariba.

Key Responsibilities

SAP EAM / Asset Management

  • Lead end to end SAP S/4HANA EAM solution design covering:
    • Maintenance notifications and orders
    • Preventive maintenance (maintenance plans and task lists)
    • Corrective and shutdown maintenance
    • Asset hierarchies, functional locations, and equipment
  • Design and support work order lifecycle management from create, plan, schedule, execute, close.
  • Enable segregation of duties between Planner, Scheduler, Supervisor, and Technician roles.

Work Management & Scheduling

  • Design and configure detailed maintenance scheduling using standard SAP S/4HANA EAM capabilities.
  • Support:
    • Weekly and daily scheduling
    • Capacity based scheduling by work center and craft
    • Prioritization of preventive maintenance vs backlog work
  • Enable schedule freezing, dispatching, and execution tracking.
  • Support schedule compliance measurement and execution variance analysis.

MRO Warehouse & Inventory Integration

  • Integrate EAM with warehouse processes supporting MRO material flow.
  • Enable directed picking for maintenance orders based on:
    • Required date
    • Order status
    • Optimized bin sequence
  • Enable directed putaway for inbound and return MRO materials, including:
    • Receipt to staging or dock
    • Putaway to final bin locations
  • Ensure materials are staged, issued, returned, and counted accurately for maintenance execution.

Procurement & Ariba Integration

  • Design and support integration between SAP S/4HANA EAM and SAP Ariba for:
    • External services procurement
    • MRO material sourcing
    • Purchase requisitions and purchase orders generated from maintenance orders
  • Ensure seamless flow of:
    • Service entry sheets
    • Goods receipts
    • Invoice verification
  • Support governance, compliance, and audit requirements for indirect procurement.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with SAP EAM / Asset Management
  • Proven experience delivering S/4HANA EAM implementations or conversions
  • Deep knowledge of:
    • Maintenance work management
    • Work order planning and detailed scheduling
    • MRO inventory and warehouse integration
  • Strong integration experience with SAP Ariba for services and material procurement
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing, utilities, oil & gas, chemicals, or asset intensive industries
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional workshops

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting shutdown, turnaround, or outage maintenance
  • Exposure to EWM enabled or WM integrated MRO environments (directed picking/putaway)
  • Experience with SAP Fiori apps for EAM and warehouse operations
  • Background working in globally distributed asset environments

Special Requirements

Weekly travel through 2026, will reduce after that (expenses reimbursed). Start Date: 04/20/2026. End Date: 06/25/2027.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Parsippany, NJ
