Role Overview
Square Hiring LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAP EWM ABAP Developer for a critical contract engagement in Raritan, New Jersey. This role is designed for a technical expert who possesses a deep understanding of the SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) module and the proficiency to extend its capabilities through advanced ABAP programming. As the logistics landscape evolves toward 2026, the integration of automated warehouse solutions and real-time data processing has become paramount. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of implementing these sophisticated solutions, ensuring that warehouse operations are optimized for maximum efficiency and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Development and Customization: You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of custom ABAP programs, including the design, development, and implementation of enhancements and modifications within the SAP EWM environment. This involves a heavy focus on RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, and Forms) tailored to meet unique business requirements.
- EWM Framework Utilization: Leverage EWM-specific frameworks such as the Post Processing Framework (PPF), Business Add-Ins (BAdIs), and enhancement spots. You will customize and extend standard EWM functionality to support complex warehouse processes that are not covered by out-of-the-box features.
- System Integration: Develop and maintain robust interfaces between SAP EWM and other core modules like SAP ECC or S/4HANA. You will also manage integrations with external third-party systems using a variety of technologies, including Remote Function Calls (RFC), Business Application Programming Interfaces (BAPI), Intermediate Documents (IDocs), and modern Web Services.
- Troubleshooting and Expert Support: Provide high-level technical support for complex SAP EWM ABAP issues. This includes deep-dive debugging, performance tuning of existing code, and resolving architectural bottlenecks to ensure the continuous and smooth operation of critical warehouse movements.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize ABAP code to ensure high performance, especially in high-volume warehouse environments. You will participate in system upgrades and the application of support packages to keep the EWM landscape stable and aligned with the latest SAP innovations.
Technical Qualifications
- ABAP Objects Mastery: Profound expertise in ABAP Objects, including classes, methods, inheritance, and polymorphism, is required to build scalable and maintainable solutions.
- EWM Process Knowledge: A comprehensive understanding of core EWM processes is essential. This includes inbound and outbound delivery processing, complex warehouse structures, storage type and bin management, and internal warehouse movements such as replenishment and rearrangement.
- Documentation and Standards: Commitment to creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation for all developed solutions. You must adhere to SAP best practices, industry coding standards, and established architectural guidelines to ensure long-term system integrity.
- Experience with S/4HANA: While the role focuses on EWM, experience with S/4HANA architectures and the specific nuances of EWM on S/4HANA (embedded or decentralized) is highly preferred for this 2026 market environment.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $156,000 – $197,600 per year (Estimated)
