Role Overview: Senior SAP EWM Consultant
K-Tek Resourcing is currently seeking a highly experienced SAP EWM Consultant with a specialized background in the Automobile domain to join our team for a critical client engagement in the Chicago/Normal, Illinois area. This role is designed for a seasoned professional with over a decade of hands-on experience in SAP Extended Warehouse Management, specifically within the high-stakes environment of automotive manufacturing and distribution. As we move into 2026, the integration of S/4 HANA and advanced warehouse automation has become the standard, and we require a consultant who can navigate these complex landscapes with precision.
Key Responsibilities and Technical Depth
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of SAP EWM modules, focusing on inbound and outbound processing, stock management, and physical inventory management.
- Architect and configure complex warehouse structures, including Process-Oriented Storage Control (POSC), Layout-Oriented Storage Control (LOSC), and Warehouse Order Creation Rules (WOCR).
- Manage advanced functionalities such as Wave Management, Post Processing Framework (PPF), and Replenishment & Scrapping strategies.
- Execute seamless integration between SAP EWM and S/4 HANA, specifically focusing on Goods Issue (GI) and Goods Receipt (GR) processes.
- Oversee SAP Yard Management and Resource Management to optimize vehicle movement and labor allocation within the warehouse perimeter.
- Implement SAP Value Added Services (VAS) to support automotive-specific requirements like kitting, labeling, and specialized packaging.
- Drive data migration and cutover activities, ensuring minimal disruption to live automotive production lines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EWM with third-party systems, including RF devices, RFID technology, and automated material handling equipment.
Domain Expertise: The Automotive Edge
The automotive industry presents unique challenges, including Just-In-Time (JIT) and Just-In-Sequence (JIS) delivery requirements. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of how SAP EWM supports these critical supply chain movements. You will be responsible for ensuring that the warehouse operations are perfectly synchronized with the production schedule, preventing any bottlenecks that could lead to costly line stoppages. Your experience in the automotive sector will allow you to anticipate common pitfalls in parts management and finished vehicle logistics, providing proactive solutions that leverage the full power of the SAP S/4 HANA suite. This role requires not just technical configuration skills, but a strategic mindset capable of aligning IT solutions with complex business objectives in a fast-paced industrial setting.

As a Senior Consultant, you will act as a bridge between internal stakeholders and external consulting partners. Excellent communication skills are paramount, as you will be required to translate technical requirements into business value for executive leadership while providing granular guidance to technical developers. You will participate in rigorous testing phases, including Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring that every aspect of the EWM solution meets the highest quality standards. Your ability to work in a mix of internal and external consultant environments will be key to the success of this long-term project.
Special Requirements
Automobile domain experience required; 10+ years of experience required.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
