Role: Senior SAP Fiori / SAPUI5 Developer
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior SAP Fiori / SAPUI5 Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing responsive, role-based SAP Fiori applications and enhancements that align with SAP UX standards. This role demands strong hands-on expertise in SAPUI5 (freestyle and Fiori elements), OData service consumption/integration, and SAP Fiori Launchpad configuration and extension. You will collaborate closely with UX, Functional, and Solution teams to translate business requirements into scalable front-end solutions, ensure seamless integration with SAP backend services, and drive quality through rigorous reviews, testing, and performance tuning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement SAP Fiori applications and enhancements.
- Ensure applications are responsive and role-based, adhering to SAP UX standards.
- Utilize strong hands-on expertise in SAPUI5 (freestyle and Fiori elements).
- Perform OData service consumption and integration.
- Configure and extend SAP Fiori Launchpad.
- Collaborate with UX, Functional, and Solution teams to gather requirements.
- Translate business requirements into scalable front-end solutions.
- Ensure integration with SAP backend services.
- Drive quality through code reviews, testing, and performance tuning.
Technical Skills and Experience:
- SAPUI5 / SAP Fiori Development: Strong hands-on experience with both freestyle and Fiori elements.
- Web Technologies: Excellent knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and UI development fundamentals.
- Development Environment: Experience building applications in SAP Business Application Studio (BAS) and/or SAP Web IDE.
- Fiori Elements / Metadata-driven UI: Practical knowledge of Fiori elements floorplans and configuration/annotation-driven development.
- Integration: Strong experience with OData services and SAP Gateway integration, including data binding, filters, sorting, and service performance.
- Launchpad & UX: Experience with Fiori Launchpad configuration and applying SAP UX guidelines for consistent, role-based user experiences.
- Debugging & Problem Solving: Strong debugging skills across UI5, browser developer tools, and service traces; ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with OData V4 and awareness of its benefits and extension models.
- Knowledge of Analytical, Fact Sheet, OVP style apps, and dashboards.
- Exposure to SAP BTP and API usage for extensions/integrations.
- Experience with UI theming/branding using Theme Designer.
- Exposure to hybrid/mobile packaging patterns (e.g., Cordova).
