Role Overview
Scalable Systems is currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SAP MM Consultant for a critical onsite engagement in Boston, MA. This position is a 6-8 month contract role supporting our premier client, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of deep functional and technical expertise within the SAP Materials Management module, specifically focusing on supply chain optimization and system integration. This role requires an immediate onsite presence from day one, making it a perfect opportunity for local candidates or those willing to relocate to the Boston area immediately.
Key Responsibilities
- System Configuration & Design: You will be responsible for the end-to-end configuration of SAP MM modules. This includes the detailed setup of Material Master data, Purchasing workflows, and Valuation procedures. You must ensure that all system designs are robust, scalable, and perfectly aligned with the client’s complex business requirements.
- Procurement & Vendor Management: Manage the entire procurement lifecycle within the SAP environment. This involves overseeing purchase requisitions, managing Requests for Quotation (RFQs), executing purchase orders, and maintaining complex contracts. You will also be the primary point of contact for maintaining accurate and high-quality vendor master data.
- Inventory & Warehouse Management: Take ownership of stock level monitoring and inventory accuracy. You will manage all inventory movements, including goods receipts and goods issues, and lead physical inventory audits to ensure system data matches physical stock.
- Logistics Invoice Verification: Execute and oversee the invoice verification process. You will be tasked with resolving any discrepancies between vendor invoices and purchase orders, ensuring financial accuracy and timely payments.
- Cross-Functional Integration: A core part of this role involves integrating the MM module with other critical SAP components, including FI/CO (Finance & Controlling), SD (Sales & Distribution), and PP (Production Planning). You must ensure data flows seamlessly across these modules to support unified business reporting.
- Support, Training & Documentation: Provide expert-level post-go-live support and troubleshoot functional issues. You will also be responsible for creating comprehensive functional specifications, unit testing protocols, and training end-users to ensure high system adoption and proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in SAP MM is mandatory.
- Proven experience in full-lifecycle SAP implementations and complex support environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with stakeholders and end-users.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
