Role Overview: SAP OpenText VIM Functional Lead
We are seeking a highly experienced SAP OpenText Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) Functional Lead to spearhead a critical project for our client, IBM, supporting the end-client MARS. This is a 100% remote, long-term contract engagement through December 2026. The successful candidate will take over existing work from Deloitte and lead the functional design of the SAP OpenText VIM solution from initial intake through to final posting. This role requires a strategic thinker who can navigate complex design challenges and drive negotiations with business stakeholders to ensure a successful go-live.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
- Lead the end-to-end functional design of SAP OpenText VIM, ensuring seamless integration from invoice intake to financial posting.
- Manage the transition of project scope from the previous consulting partner (Deloitte) and align with MARS-specific requirements.
- Analyze existing design complexities and identify critical path items essential for a successful go-live.
- Collaborate with MARS Digital Technologies (DT) and Business leadership to disposition non-critical functional requirements for subsequent releases.
- Drive high-level negotiations to define Minimum Viable Product (MVP) vs. non-critical requirements, proposing creative workarounds where necessary.
- Serve as the single point of accountability for VIM business outcomes, ensuring the solution meets the needs of Finance and AP leadership.
- Provide expert guidance on VIM best practices, including OCR/IES, invoice approval workflows, and exception handling.
- Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into robust functional specifications.
Technical and Professional Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in SAP functional consulting.
- At least 3-5 years of specialized experience in SAP OpenText VIM implementations.
- Proven track record of leading multiple end-to-end VIM implementations in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Strong functional credibility and the ability to influence Finance and Accounts Payable (AP) leadership.
- Deep understanding of SAP FI/CO modules and their integration with OpenText VIM.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Experience working in a remote, global team environment is highly preferred.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $115 – $145 per year (Estimated)
