Position Overview
We are urgently seeking a Senior SAP Professional Services (Pro Serv) Functional Consultant for a high-impact, 12-month contract engagement. This role is designed for a consultant who thrives in a professional-services-centric S/4HANA environment, focusing on the optimization of PSA (Professional Services Automation) and ProServ processes. You will be instrumental in aligning project systems, billing mechanisms, and revenue recognition protocols to support our client’s strategic objectives. This position offers a hybrid work model, with 90% remote flexibility and required onsite presence in Wayne, NJ, for critical workshops, design sessions, and project milestones.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the functional design and configuration for SAP Professional Services and PSA processes within an S/4HANA landscape.
- Provide comprehensive support for the entire project lifecycle, including project creation, staffing, budgeting, forecasting, and time/expense capture.
- Drive the design and implementation of complex project billing and revenue recognition models to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
- Facilitate collaborative workshops with Delivery, PMO, Finance, and Operations teams to define business requirements and future-state process maps.
- Develop detailed functional specifications, test scripts, and integration scenarios across PS, FI/CO, SD, and HR/Payroll modules.
- Collaborate closely with technical teams on the development of RICEF objects, system integrations, and custom enhancements.
- Oversee data migration activities, including data mapping, validation, and ensuring cutover readiness for project-based data.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles, develop end-user training materials, and provide expert go-live and post-implementation support.
- Ensure all solution designs align with SAP best practices and leverage the full capabilities of S/4HANA for professional services organizations.
- Operate as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on project accounting and cross-functional integration points.
Required Qualifications and Profile
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of SAP functional experience, with a heavy emphasis on Professional Services, PSA, and Project Systems (PS). You must demonstrate hands-on configuration expertise in ProServ or related project-based modules and possess a deep understanding of project accounting, billing, and revenue recognition. Experience leading workshops and driving design decisions with senior business stakeholders is essential. We are looking for a consultant who can operate independently, own deliverables from start to finish, and adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment. Prior experience working within professional services organizations or top-tier consulting firms is highly preferred. Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills are mandatory for success in this role. This is a 12-month contract with a competitive bill rate, open to candidates with any genuine visa status.
