Role Overview: SAP Project Manager (Ariba & Modernization)

Broadpeak Systems Inc is currently seeking a highly experienced and strategic SAP Project Manager for a critical 12-month contract engagement. This position is fully remote and is centered on leading a high-stakes SAP Ariba Integration and Modernization initiative for a prominent client within the Financial Services sector. With a strict requirement for 12+ years of professional experience, the ideal candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge in managing complex, multi-system enterprise programs and a deep understanding of the SAP ecosystem.

The Strategic Importance of SAP Ariba in Financial Services

In the modern financial landscape, procurement and supplier management have become increasingly complex. This project aims to modernize the client’s procurement infrastructure by integrating SAP Ariba with a variety of internal and external systems. The goal is to create a seamless, automated, and highly compliant procurement process that can scale with the organization’s growth. As the Project Manager, you will be at the forefront of this transformation, ensuring that the solution not only meets technical requirements but also aligns with the strategic goals of the business.

Key Responsibilities and Scope of Work

  • End-to-End Program Management: You will oversee the entire lifecycle of the SAP Ariba integration project, from initial scope definition and Design Thinking workshops to Agile execution, MVP rollout, and final go-live stabilization. This includes managing timelines, budgets, and resource allocation while maintaining a rigorous focus on risk management.
  • Methodology and Governance: You will be responsible for facilitating sprint ceremonies and managing the product backlog using a hybrid of Agile and SAP Activate methodologies. Ensuring adherence to project governance and maintaining strict scope control are essential components of this role.
  • Technical Integration Leadership: A significant portion of this initiative involves orchestrating data flows between SAP Ariba, SAP BTP, and the SAP Integration Suite (CPI). You will also manage integrations with specialized systems within the Moody’s ecosystem, such as Orbis, MaxSight, and Compliance Catalyst, ensuring a modular and scalable architecture.
  • Stakeholder and Customer Engagement: You will serve as the primary point of contact for executive stakeholders, conducting structured workshops to define ‘As-Is’ and ‘To-Be’ processes. Your ability to translate complex business needs into prioritized user stories and actionable deliverables will be key to the project’s success.

Navigating the Moody’s Ecosystem and Compliance

Working within the Financial Services domain requires a heightened focus on compliance and data integrity. This project involves integrating with the Moody’s ecosystem to enhance supplier risk assessment and compliance monitoring. You will guide technical teams on interface requirements and error-handling mechanisms to ensure that the integration is robust and meets all regulatory standards. Your expertise in SAP Signavio-style process modeling will be utilized to document and optimize these critical workflows.

Professional Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in IT Project Management, specifically within the SAP domain.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering SAP Ariba and SAP BTP integration projects.
  • Deep familiarity with SAP Integration Suite (CPI) and multi-system data orchestration.
  • Strong background in the Financial Services industry, with an understanding of its unique compliance requirements.
  • Expertise in Agile, Scrum, and SAP Activate methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
