This position requires a seasoned professional with over 12 years of experience to lead testing efforts across multiple locations including Charlotte, NC, Chicago, IL, and New York, NY. The successful candidate will oversee the entire Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and ensure that all SAP modules meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. As a lead, you will be responsible for setting the technical direction for the QA team, mentoring junior analysts, and serving as the primary point of contact for quality-related matters during large-scale SAP implementations and upgrades.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and strategies based on Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and Functional Specifications (FS) to ensure 100% requirement coverage.
- Lead the execution of manual, functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end (E2E) testing phases, ensuring that all business processes are validated against real-world scenarios.
- Manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in collaboration with business stakeholders to ensure system readiness and user satisfaction before go-live.
- Oversee defect management processes using industry-standard tools such as HP ALM, Jira, and SAP Solution Manager, ensuring timely resolution and re-testing of all critical bugs.
- Drive test automation initiatives by designing and maintaining robust scripts using Tosca, Selenium, UFT, or Worksoft Certify to increase test efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Validate data integrity across integrated systems, specifically focusing on SAP ECC to non-SAP system interfaces, ensuring that data flows accurately between the core ERP and peripheral applications.
- Collaborate closely with functional consultants and developers to resolve complex technical issues and requirement gaps, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure strict compliance with industry regulations such as SOX and GxP, maintaining detailed Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTM) for audit purposes.
- Provide regular status reports to senior management, highlighting risks, mitigation plans, and overall testing progress.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 12 years of hands-on experience in Software Quality Assurance, with a heavy focus on SAP environments and large-scale enterprise applications.
- Deep expertise in core SAP modules including FICO (Financial Accounting and Controlling), SD (Sales and Distribution), MM (Materials Management), PP (Production Planning), and Ariba.
- Significant experience in S/4HANA migrations and understanding the architectural differences between ECC and S/4HANA.
- Proficiency in SAP-specific testing tools like Solution Manager, SAP TAO, and ECATT, as well as general QA tools like HP ALM/QC and Jira.
- Strong technical background in SQL for backend data validation and API testing using SOAP UI or Postman to verify web services.
- Expert knowledge of Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies, with the ability to adapt testing processes to different project delivery models.
- Exceptional analytical thinking and communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
