Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Migration Lead to guide and oversee data migration from multiple legacy systems into SAP S/4HANA. This role represents the business organization, providing best-practice guidance, ensuring data readiness, and coordinating closely with the SAP implementation partner. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on expertise with the data migration to SAP S/4, operates fluently across both functional and technical areas, and has proven experience leading mixed teams in complex transformation programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Leadership & Advisory:
    • Represent the business team throughout the data migration lifecycle.
    • Advise on best practices, data quality, and transformation activities.
    • Act as main liaison between business stakeholders and the SAP implementation partner.
  • Data Migration Execution:
    • Lead planning and execution including mapping, transformation, validation, and loading.
    • Manage mock loads, test loads, and cutover activities.
    • Oversee extraction and cleansing activities with business owners.
  • Tool Expertise:
    • Serve as SME for SAP Migration Cockpit including mapping, templates, and sequencing.
    • Provide direction on transformation rules and requirements.
  • Team & Partner Coordination:
    • Lead legacy source system functional teams.
    • Coordinate with implementation partner on progress and issue resolution.
    • Ensure accountability across all migration workstreams.
  • Planning & Project Management:
    • Develop migration plans, schedules, and risk logs.
    • Manage deliverables and ensure milestone completion.
    • Provide status updates and escalate issues when needed.

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

  • Strong hands-on S/4HANA migration experience using SAP Migration Cockpit.
  • Ability to communicate across functional and technical domains.
  • Strong understanding of SAP master and transactional data.
  • Project/workstream lead experience managing technical and functional teams.
  • Strong planning and delivery management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ETL tools (e.g., SAP Data Services).
  • Exposure to global or multi-wave S/4HANA transformations.
  • Background in data governance or enterprise processes.
