Role Summary: SAP S/4HANA PP/PE Lead
We are seeking a seasoned SAP S/4HANA Production Planning (PP) and Production Execution (PE) Lead to spearhead complex manufacturing transformations for our global clients. This high-impact role is designed for a functional expert who can drive innovation across discrete, process, and hybrid manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will possess a business-first mindset, a deep understanding of shop floor realities, and the ability to translate intricate manufacturing operations into scalable, standardized SAP solutions. While NYC is the strongly preferred location, we are open to considering remote arrangements for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities and Strategic Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of SAP S/4HANA PP and Production Execution capabilities, including demand-driven planning, MRP, and capacity sequencing.
- Manage production orders, confirmations, backflushing, and complex variance management including scrap, rework, and yield.
- Drive fit-to-standard workshops with manufacturing stakeholders to ensure operational differentiators are protected while maintaining system integrity.
- Define and lead the integration between SAP S/4HANA and various Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), aligning planning and execution signals.
- Design integration patterns for production order dispatching, machine data feedback, and quality exception handling.
- Collaborate with Warehouse Management (WMS/EWM) teams to align material staging, kanban, and finished goods logistics.
- Lead manufacturing master data design, including Materials, BOMs (EBOM/MBOM), routings, and work centers.
- Establish governance for scrap/defect codes and ensure production data quality and ownership across the enterprise.
- Act as the primary manufacturing Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the program, partnering with business leaders, plant managers, and finance executives.
- Mentor junior consultants and contribute to the development of internal assets and implementation accelerators.
Required Qualifications and Expertise
- Minimum of 10 years of SAP manufacturing experience with deep functional expertise in PP and PE modules.
- Proven track record of multiple SAP S/4HANA implementations, including both greenfield projects and system conversions.
- Hands-on experience integrating MES platforms with SAP environments to create seamless shop floor data flows.
- Strong understanding of shop floor operations and key manufacturing KPIs (OEE, yield, cycle time).
- Experience with third-party WMS or SAP EWM within a manufacturing context.
- Exceptional ability to lead complex design discussions and drive strategic decision-making at the executive level.
Preferred Skills and Industry Knowledge
- Experience in specialized industries such as Injection Molding, Aerospace & Defense (A&D), or other highly regulated sectors.
- Knowledge of advanced SAP tools including PP-DS, IBP, or aATP.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0, IoT, and digital manufacturing initiatives.
- Prior experience as a Solution Architect or Functional Lead on large-scale global programs.
- Strong executive communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present clear tradeoffs and risk assessments.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $180,000 – $240,000 per year (Estimated)
