Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAP Warehouse Management (WM) Consultant for a critical 6-month contract engagement based in Kentucky. As a senior-level professional with over a decade of hands-on experience, you will be responsible for the configuration, optimization, and support of complex warehouse environments. In the 2026 logistics landscape, the integration of SAP WM with advanced automation and real-time data processing is paramount. This role demands a consultant who can bridge the gap between technical system architecture and physical warehouse operations, ensuring maximum throughput and inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end configuration of SAP WM modules, including the definition of warehouse structures, storage types, and bins.
- Design and implement sophisticated putaway and picking strategies tailored to specific business requirements and facility layouts.
- Analyze existing warehouse operations and logistics processes to identify bottlenecks and implement system-driven improvements.
- Manage the integration of SAP WM with other core modules such as Materials Management (MM), Sales and Distribution (SD), and Logistics Execution (LE).
- Oversee the implementation and troubleshooting of Radio Frequency (RF) technology and Mobile Data Entry (MDE) solutions for real-time inventory tracking.
- Develop comprehensive technical specifications for custom RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows).
- Conduct rigorous unit testing, integration testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Provide expert-level production support, resolving complex issues related to inbound/outbound deliveries, transfer requirements, and transfer orders.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer by training end-users and creating detailed process documentation and training manuals.
Technical Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in SAP WM configuration and support is mandatory.
- Proven track record of at least three full-lifecycle SAP WM implementations in large-scale industrial or distribution environments.
- Deep expertise in Warehouse Structure, Master Data management, and Inventory Management within the SAP ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of logistics processes, including cross-docking, wave management, and yard management.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA is highly preferred, particularly in the context of transitioning from legacy WM to EWM or maintaining decentralized WM.
- Familiarity with ABAP debugging and the ability to read code to assist in troubleshooting custom enhancements.

While the initial term is 6 months, there is a strong possibility of extension based on project milestones and the evolving needs of the logistics roadmap for 2026 and beyond.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $180,000 – $250,000 per year (Estimated)
