Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and seasoned Senior SAP WM (Warehouse Management) Consultant for a critical 6-month contract engagement located onsite in Kentucky. This high-impact role is designed for a subject matter expert who can navigate the complexities of live warehouse environments, drive significant process improvements, and ensure the seamless optimization of logistics operations. As a key contributor, you will work directly with onsite operations teams and enterprise-level systems to maintain the flawless execution of distribution center activities. This position requires a deep understanding of how SAP WM integrates with physical warehouse workflows to support a high-volume supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, real-time SAP WM support tailored to the specific needs of high-volume warehouse operations and distribution centers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Transfer Orders (TOs), RF scanning technologies, Handling Units (HUs), and serial number tracking.
  • Manage and monitor critical system interfaces, including IDocs and various integration points, to prevent data bottlenecks and ensure system synchronization.
  • Configure and enhance SAP WM processes and workflows to align with evolving business requirements and operational efficiency goals.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Warehouse Management, Inventory Control, and General Operations to streamline logistics.
  • Oversee and support integrations with related modules such as SAP MM (Materials Management), SD (Sales and Distribution), EDI, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
  • Lead the execution of rigorous testing phases, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and maintain meticulous documentation for all system changes.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and performance optimization within the existing SAP landscape to reduce operational downtime.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 12 years of hands-on experience in SAP WM configuration and production support within large-scale, complex enterprise environments.
  • Deep expertise in SAP WM and MM master data management and end-to-end transaction flow within a warehouse setting.
  • Proven proficiency with RF devices, barcode scanning systems, and mobile data entry solutions in a live production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to author detailed functional specifications and collaborate effectively with ABAP development teams for custom enhancements and bug fixes.
  • Advanced root-cause analysis skills with a track record of resolving high-priority system issues under tight deadlines in a distribution center context.
  • Knowledge of SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) is considered a significant advantage for this role as the organization looks toward future upgrades.

The initial contract duration is 6 months, with the potential for extension based on project performance and ongoing business needs. Candidates must be prepared to engage in a high-intensity environment where system uptime is paramount to the success of the global supply chain. Compensation & Location

Salary: $185,000 – $245,000 per year (Estimated)
