Position Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Scrum Master to join our team in Salt Lake City, UT, for a hybrid engagement. In this role, you will be the primary facilitator for our Agile development teams, ensuring that Scrum principles are understood and effectively applied to deliver high-quality software solutions. As a servant leader, you will be responsible for removing impediments, fostering a culture of self-organization, and driving continuous improvement across the development lifecycle. This position requires a local candidate who can participate in onsite collaboration while benefiting from the flexibility of a hybrid work model. You will play a pivotal role in aligning team efforts with organizational goals and ensuring the successful delivery of complex technical projects.
Core Responsibilities
- Facilitate all standard Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Work closely with Product Owners to manage and refine the product backlog, ensuring that the team is always working on the highest-priority items.
- Identify and eliminate obstacles that hinder the team’s progress or impact productivity.
- Coach and mentor team members on Agile values and principles, promoting a mindset of transparency, courage, and respect.
- Track and communicate team metrics, such as velocity and burn-down charts, to provide visibility into progress and performance.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment where team members feel empowered to innovate and take ownership of their work.
- Coordinate with other Scrum Masters and project leads to manage cross-team dependencies and ensure alignment on release schedules.
- Promote the adoption of engineering best practices, including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
- Support the organization’s broader Agile transformation by sharing best practices and contributing to the Agile Community of Practice.
- Ensure the team maintains a sustainable pace of delivery while consistently meeting quality standards and sprint commitments.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master in a professional software development environment.
- Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and Lean principles.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to influence without authority.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Experience using Agile management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) are highly desirable.
- A background in Information Technology or Software Engineering is preferred to better understand technical challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through organizational change and complex project environments.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $125,000 – $165,000 per year
