Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scrum Master with a specialized background in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to lead digital transformation initiatives within a smart factory environment. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between high-level digital strategies and shop floor operational technology (OT). The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the Agile process for teams dedicated to implementing and maintaining critical MES software suites such as Siemens OpsCenter, Rockwell, SAP ME, and SAP DM. This position requires a unique blend of traditional Scrum Master competencies and a deep understanding of the complexities inherent in deploying IT solutions within industrial and manufacturing settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate all standard Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, ensuring the team remains focused on delivering high-value increments.
- Act as a bridge between IT development teams and shop floor operations, translating technical requirements into operational realities and vice versa.
- Manage the unique challenges of Agile deployment in OT environments, where uptime and safety are paramount.
- Coach the team and the broader organization on Agile principles, specifically tailored for the manufacturing sector.
- Remove impediments that hinder the team’s progress, whether they are technical, organizational, or process-oriented.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners to maintain a healthy, prioritized backlog that reflects the needs of the smart factory roadmap.
- Drive continuous improvement within the team by fostering a culture of transparency, inspection, and adaptation.
- Monitor and report on key Agile metrics such as velocity, burn-down charts, and cycle time to provide visibility into project health.
Technical and Domain Expertise
The ideal candidate must possess a strong technical foundation in MES platforms. Experience with Siemens OpsCenter, Rockwell Automation solutions, or SAP Manufacturing Execution (ME) and Digital Manufacturing (DM) is highly preferred. You should understand how these systems integrate with ERPs and PLM systems to create a seamless data flow across the enterprise. Knowledge of IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things), edge computing, and real-time data analytics in a manufacturing context will be a significant advantage. You will be expected to manage the lifecycle of IT/OT integration projects, ensuring that software updates and deployments do not disrupt critical production schedules.
Qualifications and Soft Skills
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification.
- Proven track record of leading Agile teams in a manufacturing or industrial automation setting.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both software engineers and shop floor technicians.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to risk management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment where digital transformation is a core business objective.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
