Role Overview
TestingXperts is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our dynamic engineering team in Scottsdale, AZ. This is a 100% onsite, 12-month contract position designed for a professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and possesses a deep passion for quality engineering and automation. As an SDET, you will bridge the gap between development and quality assurance, ensuring that our software products meet the highest standards of reliability, performance, and scalability. You will be responsible for designing and implementing sophisticated automation frameworks that support continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for web, API, and backend testing to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Write and execute high-quality automated test scripts using Java and Groovy, adhering to industry best practices and coding standards.
- Perform rigorous API testing using RESTful services, validating responses, and ensuring seamless integration between microservices.
- Develop and maintain complex SQL queries for data validation, ensuring data integrity across various database systems.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and QA analysts, to identify test requirements and define automation strategies.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using modern tools such as GitLab and Jenkins to facilitate rapid and reliable software releases.
- Analyze test results in detail, identify bottlenecks, report defects, and work with the development team to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging tools, technologies, and best practices in the test automation landscape to continuously improve our testing processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Extensive experience in software testing with a strong focus on automation engineering.
- Advanced programming proficiency in Java and Groovy is essential for this role.
- Hands-on experience with leading automation frameworks such as SPOCK, Selenium, TestNG, or JUnit.
- Proven expertise in REST API testing using tools like Postman or RestAssured.
- Solid understanding of SQL and database management for backend validation.
- In-depth knowledge of software testing principles, methodologies, and the full software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Practical experience with CI/CD tools including GitLab, Jenkins, Git, and Maven.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $125,000 – $175,000 per year (Estimated)
