Role Overview: Senior SDET

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our dynamic engineering team in a fully remote capacity. This role is designed for a technical professional who bridges the gap between traditional software development and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will possess a deep background in .NET development and SQL database management, with a forward-thinking approach to automation. As we move into 2026, our focus is on leveraging modern, lightweight automation frameworks like Karate to streamline our testing lifecycle. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-scale enterprise applications while championing quality-first development practices.

Key Responsibilities and Technical Leadership

  • Automation Framework Development: Design, architect, and maintain robust automated test scripts using the Karate Framework. You will be responsible for both API and UI automation, utilizing Karate’s Domain Specific Language (DSL) to create readable and maintainable test suites.
  • Backend Validation: Leverage your 7-8 years of SQL expertise to perform complex data verification, backend validation, and troubleshooting. You will ensure that data integrity is maintained across all application layers.
  • Full-Stack Testing: Conduct comprehensive functional, regression, and integration testing across various platforms. This includes validating RESTful APIs, JSON/XML structures, and front-end user interfaces.
  • Collaborative Engineering: Work closely with cross-functional Agile/Scrum teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective test strategies. You will participate in code reviews to ensure that automation code meets the same high standards as production code.
  • CI/CD Integration: Enhance our DevOps pipeline by integrating automated tests into CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions. Your goal will be to provide rapid feedback to developers and ensure stable releases.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Analyze test failures in depth, identify root causes, and collaborate with developers to implement permanent resolutions. You will be a key player in reducing technical debt and improving overall system reliability.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 7 to 8 years of hands-on experience in .NET development and SQL. This role requires a developer-level understanding of code architecture and database design.
  • Automation Mindset: A strong desire to work with the Karate Framework. While prior experience with Karate is a plus, we value the ability to learn and master new automation tools quickly.
  • Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of software development principles, the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and Agile methodologies.
  • API Expertise: Extensive experience working with API structures, including REST, JSON, and XML. Familiarity with tools like Postman or RestSharp is highly desirable.
  • Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to write clean, modular, and maintainable code.

Preferred Skills and Environment

Candidates who bring experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure, or containerization systems like Docker and Kubernetes, will be given high priority. As a remote team member, you must demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently while staying aligned with team goals. We foster a culture of continuous learning and encourage our SDETs to stay ahead of industry trends in test automation and software quality engineering.
