Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our dynamic engineering team in Scottsdale, AZ. This is a 100% onsite, 12-month contract position designed for a professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and possesses a deep passion for quality assurance and automation. As an SDET, you will bridge the gap between development and testing, ensuring that our software products meet the highest standards of reliability, performance, and scalability. You will be responsible for designing and implementing sophisticated automation frameworks that streamline our testing processes and accelerate our delivery cycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for web, API, and backend testing using industry-standard tools and best practices.
- Write, review, and execute comprehensive automated test scripts using Java and Groovy to ensure full coverage of functional and non-functional requirements.
- Perform rigorous API testing using RESTful services, validating responses, and ensuring seamless integration between microservices.
- Develop and maintain complex SQL queries for data validation, ensuring data integrity across various backend systems and databases.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and QA analysts, to identify test requirements and define acceptance criteria.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab and Jenkins to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback loops.
- Analyze test results in detail, identify bottlenecks, report defects with precision, and work with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging tools, technologies, and best practices in the field of test automation and software quality engineering.
Technical Requirements
- Proven experience as an SDET or Automation Engineer with strong programming skills in Java and Groovy.
- Hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks such as SPOCK, Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, or similar technologies.
- Proficiency in REST API testing using tools like Postman or RestAssured.
- Solid understanding of SQL and relational database management systems for backend validation.
- Deep knowledge of software testing principles, methodologies (Agile/Scrum), and the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Experience with CI/CD tools and version control systems, including GitLab, Jenkins, Git, and Maven.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud services, specifically S3 and Glue, for data-driven testing scenarios.

Salary: $120,000 – $170,000 per year (Estimated)
