Job Overview
Our client is seeking a Principal SDET with deep expertise in financial data quality, test architecture, and UAT strategy within wealth and asset management platforms. This individual will serve as a technical and functional leader, driving enterprise-grade data validation frameworks, shaping UAT strategy, and partnering with senior business and technology stakeholders to ensure data integrity, regulatory compliance, and go-live readiness.
This role goes beyond execution, owning test strategy, automation architecture, and data governance alignment across complex financial ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and define UAT and data quality strategy across wealth management, asset management, trust, and advisory platforms.
- Architect and implement scalable data validation frameworks for ETL pipelines, integrations, and data migrations.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to SDET and QA teams, establishing best practices for automation and data testing.
- Partner closely with business leaders to ensure UAT coverage aligns with real-world workflows, including: Account lifecycle (onboarding, servicing), Portfolio management and performance reporting, Transactions, positions, balances, fees, and client reporting.
- Translate complex regulatory requirements and business processes into robust, automated validation strategies.
- Drive end-to-end data reconciliation frameworks (source-to-target, cross-system validation, and auditability).
- Establish data quality KPIs, governance standards, and reporting mechanisms across platforms.
- Lead UAT governance, including risk assessment, defect triage, and go/no-go recommendations to executive stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business, product, and engineering leadership on data risks, quality gaps, and remediation strategies.
- Drive adoption of modern testing practices, including CI/CD integration, test automation at scale, and shift-left testing.
- Present executive-level updates on UAT progress, risks, and data quality posture.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in SDET / QA Engineering, with a strong focus on data platforms and backend testing.
- Proven experience designing and implementing test automation and data validation frameworks at scale.
- Deep domain expertise in financial services, particularly wealth management, asset management, or capital markets.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and/or Java for building testing frameworks and data validation tools.
- Expert-level SQL skills for complex data analysis, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
- Strong experience with ETL pipelines, data warehousing, and large-scale data migrations.
- Experience leading UAT efforts in complex, highly regulated environments.
- Demonstrated ability to bridge business and technology, translating technical issues into business impact.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience interacting with senior leadership and executives.
- Experience implementing data quality governance and controls.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, Snowflake, Databricks).
- Familiarity with data lineage, data governance, and regulatory reporting frameworks.
- Experience in Agile / DevOps environments with CI/CD pipelines.
- Prior experience in a Principal, Lead, or Architect-level role.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
Location: Hamilton Township, NJ
