Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Security Architect Consultant with a specialized focus on Cisco Security Engineering to join our team in Columbia, South Carolina. This is a critical hybrid/onsite role requiring a professional who can design, implement, and manage robust security architectures for enterprise environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic oversight of security protocols, ensuring that all private and web policies adhere to the principle of least privilege while maintaining high availability for remote access and IPSEC-based VPN solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze existing security rules, converting them into least-privilege rules for both private and web-based policies to minimize the attack surface.
- Deploy and administer Cisco Secure Firewall (formerly Firepower) to support secure remote access and complex IPSEC-based VPN tunnels.
- Manage Cisco endpoint web filtering technologies and integrate them with existing security stacks, including cross-platform experience with Palo Alto, Checkpoint, or Fortinet.
- Lead the deployment of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) tools to modernize the organization’s security posture.
- Architect and implement Cisco SSE (Security Service Edge) solutions to provide secure connectivity for distributed workforces.
- Utilize Cisco SecureX, Secure Endpoint, and Cisco Secure Client to provide a unified view of the security environment and automate threat response.
- Administer Cisco Secure Access and Cisco Umbrella (Secure Internet Gateway) to protect users from malicious internet-based threats.
- Design and manage secure enterprise access strategies, ensuring that all remote access VPN solutions on the ASA platform are optimized and secure.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in monitoring and analyzing security rules for least-privilege enforcement.
- 3+ years of experience specifically deploying and administering Cisco Secure Firewall for VPN and remote access.
- 3+ years of experience with endpoint web filtering technologies.
- 2+ years of experience with ZTNA or SASE architecture and deployment.
- Strong background in Cisco ASA platforms and Check Point firewalls.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNP Security or CCNP Routing and Switching certifications.
- Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) designation.
- Experience with Cisco SecureX and Secure Endpoint integration.
- Proven ability to design secure enterprise access strategies for large-scale organizations.
Special Requirements
No OPT/CPT; Candidate must be a South Carolina resident or willing to relocate at own expense; Security clearance required; 1 Round Virtual Interview.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $155,000 – $198,000 per year (Estimated)
