Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Engineer with a specialized focus on AWS and Glue to join our dynamic team in San Francisco. This role requires a veteran professional with over 14 years of experience in the IT industry, specifically focusing on cloud-native architectures and automated data pipelines. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for building and automating sophisticated cloud solutions that leverage the full power of the Amazon Web Services ecosystem. This is a hybrid position requiring three days of onsite presence per week at our San Francisco office, offering a perfect balance of collaborative in-person work and remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using modern frameworks such as AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform to ensure consistent and scalable environment provisioning.
- Build and automate cloud-native solutions on AWS, focusing on high availability, fault tolerance, and cost optimization.
- Design and implement complex ETL processes and data integration workflows using AWS Glue, ensuring seamless data movement across the enterprise.
- Develop automation scripts and custom tooling using Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript to streamline operational tasks and enhance developer productivity.
- Partner closely with application development teams to enable self-service cloud capabilities, fostering a DevOps culture across the organization.
- Architect scalable and secure platform services that serve as reference solutions for the broader engineering community.
- Contribute to an agile environment by participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Technical Requirements
- A minimum of 14 years of professional experience in software engineering and cloud infrastructure.
- Expert-level proficiency in programming with Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with a wide array of AWS services, including but not limited to Lambda, S3, IAM, VPC, and specifically AWS Glue for data orchestration.
- Deep understanding of Managed SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB) and their integration within cloud architectures.
- Proven track record of implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) at scale.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $115 – $155 per year (Estimated)
