Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cypress Automation Engineer to join our dynamic QA Automation team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust automated test suites for our consumer credit platform. You will work with modern testing frameworks, collaborate closely with development teams, and leverage emerging AI tools to enhance productivity and test coverage. This is an excellent opportunity to lead automation initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to building a scalable, maintainable test infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Develop: Create comprehensive automated test scripts using Cypress and TypeScript, ensuring thorough coverage of functional, regression, and API testing scenarios.
- Implement & Maintain Frameworks: Build and maintain end-to-end test automation frameworks that are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with industry best practices.
- API Testing: Conduct API testing with expertise in REST/GraphQL APIs, including validation of payloads, authentication, authorization, and error handling.
- SQL Queries: Write and optimize SQL queries for database validation testing, data seeding, and backend verification as part of the automation test suite.
- Leverage AI Tools: Utilize AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot Studio) to enhance test script generation, identify edge cases, and improve overall test efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, product managers, and other QA engineers to understand requirements and translate them into comprehensive test scenarios.
- Lead & Mentor: Guide and mentor junior automation engineers, providing technical solutions, best practices, and conducting code reviews.
- Defect Management: Identify and report defects with detailed logs, evidence, and reproducible steps; track and verify resolutions.
- CI/CD Integration: Maintain automated tests within continuous integration pipelines and troubleshoot integration issues.
- Performance & Security Testing: Contribute to performance and security testing efforts where applicable.
- Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of test cases, frameworks, and procedures for team knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in QA automation testing.
- Cypress Automation Framework: Advanced proficiency with hands-on experience building and maintaining test suites.
- TypeScript/JavaScript: Strong programming skills for writing scalable, maintainable test code (TypeScript preferred).
- API Testing: Proven expertise in REST API testing using tools like Postman, Thunder Client, or similar; strong understanding of request-response validation, headers, authentication, and status codes.
- SQL: Working knowledge of SQL for writing queries to validate data, seed test data, and perform backend verification.
- Version Control: Proficient with Git/GitHub or similar version control systems.
- Testing Methodologies: Strong understanding of functional, regression, and end-to-end testing principles.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Playwright or other modern test automation frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with AI-powered coding assistants such as Claude AI, Copilot Studio, or GitHub Copilot.
- Proficiency in asynchronous programming, promises, and functional programming concepts in JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Familiarity with security testing and common vulnerabilities (OWASP).
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar.
- Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of load testing tools like JMeter or Lighthouse.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and guide team members.
Special Requirements
NO H1B please. Rate -50 per hr on c2c. AI tools like Copilot & Claude AI knowledge is a plus. CI/CD Integration. Performance & Security Testing. Agile/Scrum Environment. Familiarity with security testing and common vulnerabilities.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $50 – $50 per year (Estimated)
