Job Summary:

We are seeking an immediate need for a Senior/Lead Data Analyst position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing a brand-new policy administration system, fixing bad data, and assisting users with SQL queries. This role requires a strong understanding of P&C insurance, policy administration, and data analysis. The candidate will also be involved in testing and potentially Snowflake. Leadership skills, energy, and confidence are highly valued as the team needs someone who can take ownership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysis and clarification of business requirements both internal and external.
  • Provision of work effort estimates to Project Managers.
  • Development of detailed functional and system specifications using Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and software tools.
  • Collaboration with the Development team in all phases of the SDLC.
  • Development of use cases.
  • Design support, testing and monitoring of all required changes needed to maintain all compliance-related reporting and discretionary projects.
  • Creation of data and transformation mapping specifications.
  • Development of test plans and test cases, and execution of accurate and thorough testing.
  • Involvement in unit, integration, user and performance testing.
  • Management of requirement and testing accountabilities through working closely with business and IT partners.
  • Support of audits and market conduct exams as needed.
  • Implementing a brand-new policy administration system.
  • Fixing bad data within the system.
  • Assisting users with SQL queries.
  • Performing testing and potentially working with Snowflake.

Knowledge, Skills and Education Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience), with 5-8 years of software development experience.
  • Experience in querying relational databases.
  • Experience in data mapping and transformation.
  • Knowledge of structured analysis.
  • Experience using a software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology, including project planning and estimating.
  • Experience with SQL with ability to create SQL queries for analysis and testing as well as assist developers in creating queries.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and technical skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction.
  • Ability to lead, direct, and drive efforts of other team members.

  • Knowledge of the Property and Casualty Insurance industry desired.
  • Prior experience with statutory and compliance-related reporting a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Prior Supervisory experience.
  • Exposure to DB2 and SQL Server databases.
  • Exposure to Cloud technologies.
  • Ability to think outside of the box and a strong desire to improve the status quo.

Additional Requirements:

  • Onsite 4 days/week.
  • F2F Interview is required.
  • Must have P&C experience and Policy Admin experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Must be a team player who can take ownership.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake is a plus.

Special Requirements

F2F Interview required, Onsite 4 days/week, Locals only


Compensation & Location

Salary: $100,000 – $140,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Woodbridge, NJ
