Job Description: Senior Data Analyst

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our team. This role is crucial for implementing a brand-new policy administration system and ensuring data integrity. The position requires a strong understanding of the Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance industry, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work with minimal direction. This is an onsite role in Woodbridge, NJ, with a requirement for F2F interviews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and clarify business requirements for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide work effort estimates to Project Managers.
  • Develop detailed functional and system specifications using SDLC methodologies.
  • Collaborate with the Development team throughout all phases of the SDLC.
  • Develop use cases and design support for required changes.
  • Perform testing and monitoring of all changes needed for compliance-related reporting and discretionary projects.
  • Create data and transformation mapping specifications.
  • Develop test plans and test cases, and execute accurate and thorough testing.
  • Involve in unit, integration, user, and performance testing.
  • Manage requirement and testing accountabilities by working closely with business and IT partners.
  • Support audits and market conduct exams as needed.
  • Fix bad data and track defects to completion.
  • Assist users with SQL queries and perform testing.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 5-8 years of software development experience.
  • Experience in querying relational databases.
  • Experience in data mapping and transformation.
  • Knowledge of structured analysis.
  • Experience using a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.
  • Proficiency with SQL, including creating queries for analysis and testing.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and technical skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and lead/direct other team members.
  • Ability to work on multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and build strong relationships.
  • Attention to detail and quality.
  • Team player with strong motivational skills.
  • Knowledge of the Property and Casualty Insurance industry is desired.
  • Prior experience with statutory and compliance-related reporting is a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Prior Supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Exposure to DB2 and SQL Server databases.
  • Exposure to Cloud technologies.
  • Ability to think outside of the box and a strong desire to improve the status quo.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake is a plus.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $104,000 – $130,000 per year (Estimated)
