This is a critical opportunity for a highly experienced Senior Data Analyst with profound expertise in the payments domain to join a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of dedicated experience in data analysis, coupled with an in-depth understanding of the financial services and cards ecosystem. This role is pivotal in driving business insights through meticulous data interpretation and robust analytical capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead complex data analysis projects focusing on payment transactions, general ledger, and credit/debit card processing.
- Utilize expert-level SQL skills to query, manipulate, and analyze large datasets, extracting actionable insights.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive data models and reports to support financial reconciliation and GL reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical data solutions.
- Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in transactional data to inform strategic business decisions and optimize payment processes.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across various payment systems and reporting mechanisms.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data analysts, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
- Participate in the design and implementation of new payment systems and features, ensuring data considerations are integrated from the outset.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, clearly articulating complex data insights in an understandable manner.
- Continuously monitor industry best practices and emerging technologies in data analysis and the payments sector.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience as a Data Analyst, with a significant focus on the payments domain.
- Demonstrated strong domain expertise in Payments, General Ledger, and Credit & Debit Card Processing.
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL, including advanced querying, stored procedures, and performance optimization.
- Exceptional analytical and data interpretation abilities, with a proven track record of translating raw data into strategic insights.
- Solid understanding of transactional and reconciliation data processes.
- Experience with payment transaction flows and the complete credit & debit card lifecycle.
- Familiarity with financial reconciliation & GL reporting standards and practices.
Highly Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with Payment APIs and understanding their integration into broader systems.
- Deep understanding of the Financial Services / Cards ecosystem, including regulatory aspects and market trends.
- Experience with payment systems integration and API understanding.
- Proficiency in data validation, transformation, and reporting tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, business-critical environment, prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
