Job Summary
Con Edison is looking for a Senior Data Analyst with extensive expertise in Machine Learning to join the Digital Products & Demo Projects team within Customer Energy Solutions. This high-impact role involves designing, building, and optimizing advanced analytics and ML solutions to drive predictive modeling and data-driven decision-making. You will be responsible for transforming complex utility datasets into actionable business insights using modern cloud platforms and MLOps best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and tune sophisticated machine learning models for forecasting, classification, and clustering to support energy solution initiatives.
- Apply advanced data mining techniques to identify emerging trends and patterns within structured and unstructured datasets.
- Lead feature engineering efforts and model validation to ensure high performance and reliability of predictive solutions.
- Develop and maintain robust data pipelines in collaboration with Data Engineering teams, ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Implement MLOps workflows, including model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management using Azure Databricks.
- Create high-impact Power BI dashboards and visualizations to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Explore and evaluate modern AI techniques, including Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Generative AI/LLMs, to improve automation and analytics capabilities.
- Conduct deep-dive root cause analysis for data discrepancies and dashboard issues, recommending effective remediation strategies.
- Promote best practices in data governance, experimental analysis (A/B testing), and analytical workflow optimization across the organization.
Required Technical Skills
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science and Machine Learning Engineering.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python (full-stack) for data science workloads and advanced SQL for relational database management.
- Extensive experience with PySpark and big data processing within the Azure Databricks environment.
- Strong background in modern data science libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, and NumPy.
- Proven experience in Power BI, including DAX queries and visualization best practices.
- Familiarity with Oracle databases and cloud-based infrastructure (Azure preferred, GCP/BigQuery is a plus).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interpret complex data for leadership and cross-functional teams.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Azure Databricks Data Engineer Associate certification is strongly preferred.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
