Role Overview: Senior Data Scientist (AI Tribe)
We are seeking a highly sophisticated and motivated Senior Data Science Engineer to join our elite AI Tribe. This is a critical onsite role based in Cary, North Carolina, requiring a full-time presence (5 days a week) to foster high-level collaboration and innovation. The successful candidate will be instrumental in implementing cutting-edge data science solutions, leveraging deep technical expertise to tackle complex business challenges and contribute significantly to our development and delivery targets. This position is ideal for a professional with a robust technical background in both data engineering and data science, possessing a deep understanding of the latest methodologies and a proven track record of delivering impactful results in cloud-based environments, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Key Responsibilities and Strategic Execution
- Data Science Lifecycle Management: You will be responsible for the entire data science lifecycle. This includes initial data collection strategies, sophisticated preprocessing, feature engineering, model development, rigorous evaluation, and final deployment into production environments.
- Technical Leadership in GCP: Demonstrate mastery over the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem. You will utilize BigQuery for massive data analysis, Dataflow for stream and batch processing, Dataproc for managed Spark/Hadoop clusters, and AI Platform (Vertex AI) for model training and serving.
- Statistical Modeling and Machine Learning: Apply advanced statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques to extract actionable insights. You will build and deploy predictive models, recommender systems, and other data-driven solutions that directly impact the bottom line.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will collaborate with product management, engineering, and business leaders to translate high-level business requirements into robust data science solutions.
- Innovation and Research: Stay at the forefront of the industry by researching the latest advancements in AI and ML. You will explore and evaluate new technologies and methodologies to improve team effectiveness and drive continuous innovation within the AI Tribe.
Detailed Requirements and Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field. We require a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in data science or analytics, with a clear history of deploying solutions that have delivered tangible business impact. Expert-level programming skills in Python are mandatory, along with deep expertise in cloud computing. While GCP is strongly preferred, experience with AWS or Azure will be considered if the candidate demonstrates high adaptability. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are vital, as you will be presenting findings and strategic recommendations to senior management. Preferred qualifications include experience within the financial services industry, familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Looker, and hands-on experience with MLOps practices. Candidates with 5+ years of experience in leading and managing data science teams will be given priority consideration.
Work Environment and Duration
This is a 6-month contract position with a significant likelihood of extension based on performance and project needs. The role is strictly onsite in Cary, NC, providing a collaborative environment within our state-of-the-art facility. The interview process is rigorous, consisting of three stages, including a mandatory in-person second interview to assess technical depth and cultural fit.

3 interviews, 2nd in person. Onsite 5 days. Financial services experience preferred.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
