Role Overview
Purview Infotech is seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Developer for a critical onsite role in Boston, MA. This position is designed for a technical expert who can bridge the gap between complex business requirements and high-performance database solutions. As a senior member of the development team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of database applications, from initial design and estimation to production deployment and ongoing optimization. This role requires a deep understanding of both traditional RDBMS environments and modern cloud-native data architectures, specifically within the AWS ecosystem. Candidates must be local to the Boston area as this is a 100% onsite requirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with business analysts, software developers, and QA teams to translate business needs into technical database specifications.
- Lead the analysis, design, and development of scalable software applications, ensuring projects remain on schedule and meet high-quality standards.
- Develop and maintain complex database objects including stored procedures, triggers, views, and materialized views using Oracle PL/SQL and SQL.
- Architect and manage data pipelines for ETL jobs across diverse data sources, ensuring data integrity and high velocity processing.
- Optimize database performance through advanced tuning techniques, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
- Implement and manage cloud-based database services including AWS RDS, PostgreSQL, and Redshift.
- Ensure data security and compliance by configuring AWS IAM roles, policies, security groups, and encryption keys.
- Perform rigorous unit testing and validation of data to ensure accuracy and bug-free production deployments.
- Provide technical ownership in diagnosing and resolving production issues, offering workarounds or escalations as necessary.
- Predict database storage growth and plan for future scalability and capacity needs.
Technical Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience in database development with a focus on Oracle RDBMS and PL/SQL programming.
- Proven expertise in Data Modeling and Database Design for high-volume transactional systems.
- Strong proficiency in AWS cloud services, specifically EC2, S3, RDS, and Redshift.
- Experience with modern, resilient, and scalable cloud-native architectures.
- Familiarity with event-based micro-batch and high-velocity data processing systems.
- Proficiency with version control systems like GitHub and release management tools such as Cloud Controller.
- Deep knowledge of Cloud Security best practices within the AWS environment.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
