Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Databricks Platform Administrator (AWS) / Cloud Data Platform Administrator (Databricks) to join our team. This role is crucial for managing and optimizing our cloud data platform, ensuring its performance, scalability, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage the Databricks platform on AWS, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Implement and maintain data governance policies and procedures within the Databricks environment.
- Monitor platform usage, performance, and costs, identifying areas for optimization.
- Develop and implement automation scripts for deployment, configuration, and maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide platform support.
- Ensure security best practices are followed for data access, storage, and processing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Databricks platform and associated AWS services.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Databricks and AWS features and best practices.
- Manage user access and permissions within the Databricks environment.
- Support the integration of Databricks with other data sources and tools.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Databricks Platform Administrator or Cloud Data Platform Administrator.
- Strong expertise in Databricks and its ecosystem.
- Extensive experience with AWS services, particularly those related to data storage, compute, and networking.
- Proficiency in cloud data warehousing and data lake concepts.
- Experience with Apache Spark.
- Knowledge of MLOps principles and practices.
- Familiarity with data engineering pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
