Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Databricks Platform Administrator (AWS) / Cloud Data Platform Administrator (Databricks) to join our team. This role is crucial for managing and optimizing our cloud data platform, ensuring its performance, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage the Databricks platform on AWS, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
  • Implement and maintain data governance policies and procedures within the Databricks environment.
  • Monitor platform usage, performance, and costs, identifying areas for optimization.
  • Develop and implement automation scripts for deployment, configuration, and maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide platform support.
  • Ensure security best practices are followed for data access, storage, and processing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Databricks platform and associated AWS services.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Databricks and AWS features and best practices.
  • Manage user access and permissions within the Databricks environment.
  • Support the integration of Databricks with other data sources and tools.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Databricks Platform Administrator or Cloud Data Platform Administrator.
  • Strong expertise in Databricks and its ecosystem.
  • Extensive experience with AWS services, particularly those related to data storage, compute, and networking.
  • Proficiency in cloud data warehousing and data lake concepts.
  • Experience with Apache Spark.
  • Knowledge of MLOps principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with data engineering pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
