Role Overview: Senior DevOps Platform Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Platform Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Westlake Village, CA. This is an onsite position requiring a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, automation, and modern software delivery practices. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and managing scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring high availability, security, and performance for our enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities and Technical Leadership
- Design and manage scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure on AWS using best practices for high availability and disaster recovery.
- Maintain and optimize both Windows and Linux server environments, ensuring seamless operations across diverse operating systems.
- Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using advanced tools such as AWS CDK, CloudFormation, and Terraform to automate environment provisioning.
- Manage complex configuration management tasks using Chef, specifically tailored for Windows server environments.
- Build, maintain, and enhance robust CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, with a specific focus on deploying .NET applications in the cloud.
- Implement and enforce cloud security best practices, including IAM policies, VPC security groups, and encryption at rest and in transit.
- Monitor system health and performance using industry-standard tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, or New Relic, and proactively address potential issues.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and deployment issues, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Create and maintain comprehensive DevOps documentation, standards, and runbooks to ensure team alignment and knowledge sharing.
- Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the DevOps organization.
- Stay at the forefront of DevOps and cloud technologies, evaluating new tools and methodologies to drive innovation.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a dedicated DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC.
- Proven expertise with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, and Terraform for infrastructure automation.
- Extensive experience building and managing GitLab CI/CD pipelines for enterprise-scale applications.
- Direct experience deploying and managing .NET applications within a cloud environment.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing, and Firewalls.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Ruby for automation tasks.
- Hands-on experience with Chef for configuration management and state enforcement.
Preferred Skills and Certifications
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Professional-level AWS or GCP certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional).
- Advanced proficiency in PowerShell and Python for complex automation workflows.
- Experience with advanced AWS features like EC2 Auto Scaling and Warm Pools for cost and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of Windows Server build and packaging tools such as Chocolatey and Packer.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
