Role Overview
TEK Inspirations is seeking a highly experienced Senior Fortinet SD-WAN Architect / Engineer for a long-term contract engagement in Plano, Texas. This is a high-level architectural role requiring a minimum of 13 to 15 years of professional experience in network engineering and security architecture. The successful candidate will not only support existing infrastructure but will be the primary owner and designer of Fortinet Secure SD-WAN solutions across an enterprise-scale environment. This position is strictly onsite in Plano, and candidates must possess a deep technical background in Fortinet technologies and core networking protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design, architecture, and implementation of Fortinet Secure SD-WAN solutions for a multi-site enterprise network.
- Develop and maintain hub-and-spoke and hybrid WAN architectures to ensure high availability and optimal traffic flow.
- Orchestrate complex SD-WAN migrations from legacy environments, including Cisco and other traditional WAN setups, to a modern Fortinet-based infrastructure.
- Configure and manage the full Fortinet stack, including FortiGate SD-WAN, FortiManager for centralized orchestration, and FortiAnalyzer for advanced logging and reporting.
- Design and deploy Advanced Dynamic Virtual Private Networks (ADVPN), business-intent policies, and sophisticated traffic steering mechanisms.
- Architect WAN routing protocols, specifically BGP and OSPF, across diverse transport mediums such as MPLS, Direct Internet Access (DIA), and LTE/5G.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers during the rollout and optimization phases of the SD-WAN deployment.
- Produce comprehensive architectural documentation, including high-level and low-level designs (HLD/LLD), and present technical decisions to executive stakeholders.
Required Technical Skills
- Extensive hands-on experience with Fortinet Secure SD-WAN ownership, specifically in design and deployment phases rather than just operational support.
- Expert-level knowledge of core networking fundamentals, including deep expertise in BGP and OSPF routing in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Proven track record of delivering Fortinet SD-WAN across multiple global sites using hybrid WAN strategies.
- Proficiency in managing FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer to streamline network operations and security posture.
- Experience with emerging technologies such as 5G integration into WAN architectures and cloud-native networking.
Professional Requirements
- A minimum of 13 years of experience in Network Architecture or Engineering is mandatory; candidates with less experience will not be considered.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $175,000 – $225,000 per year (Estimated)
