Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior GIS Developer to lead the integration of ArcGIS Enterprise with core corporate systems for a major transportation leader. This role is crucial for high-level systems architecture, custom middleware development, and optimizing rail infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in the Esri ecosystem and a strong background in software development.
Key Responsibilities
- System Integration: Design, develop, and maintain robust connections between Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and core corporate applications using Python, JavaScript, and REST APIs.
- Custom Development: Build high-performance web applications and custom widgets using ArcGIS Experience Builder to enhance GIS functionalities.
- Data Management: Oversee SQL Server databases, manage ArcGIS map services, and perform complex geospatial analysis to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
- Technical Leadership: Define and implement GIS best practices, document system architectures, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Rail Infrastructure Optimization: Apply GIS expertise to optimize and manage rail infrastructure data and systems.
Top Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in software development with a significant focus on the Esri GIS ecosystem.
- Development Stack: Advanced proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and SQL Server is essential.
- GIS Expertise: Mastery of ArcGIS Enterprise, including map compilation, geoprocessing, and spatial modeling.
- Specialized Knowledge: Proficiency with ArcGIS Roads and Highways or Network Analyst is highly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, GIS, or a related technical field.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor junior team members.
Additional Information
- This is a hybrid role requiring presence in the Philadelphia, PA office.
- The contract duration is expected to be 6+ months.
- Interviews will be conducted via SKYPE.

Compensation & Location
