Role Overview
We are seeking a highly seasoned Senior Java Developer for a long-term, high-impact engagement based in Atlanta, Georgia. This position is designed for a technical leader with over 13 years of professional experience in the software engineering domain. The role follows a unique hybrid work model, requiring the candidate to be onsite in Atlanta for 5 consecutive days every other week (Thursday through Wednesday), offering a balanced approach to collaborative in-person development and remote flexibility.
Core Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and implement enterprise-grade applications using Java, J2EE, and the Spring Framework ecosystem.
- Develop robust batch processing solutions utilizing Spring Batch and design high-performance RESTful APIs with Spring REST.
- Lead front-end development efforts using modern JavaScript frameworks, specifically React, to build responsive and intuitive user interfaces.
- Optimize database interactions with Oracle, writing complex SQL queries and PL/SQL procedures to ensure data integrity and performance.
- Manage the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) within an Agile/SCRUM environment, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and code reviews.
- Implement and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD to streamline deployment processes.
- Deploy and orchestrate containerized applications using Docker and Red Hat OpenShift on AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Integrate messaging and event processing systems using IBM MQ and AWS SQS to support asynchronous communication.
- Ensure application security and scalability by leveraging AWS services such as API Gateway, S3, and CloudFormation (CFT).
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 13 years of experience in Java-based application development.
- Expert-level proficiency in Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Spring Security.
- Strong hands-on experience with React.js and modern front-end build tools.
- Deep understanding of AWS cloud services and infrastructure as code.
- Proven track record in database design and optimization with Oracle.
- Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and enterprise messaging (IBM MQ).

Compensation & Location
Salary: $155,000 – $205,000 per year (Estimated)
