Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with specialized experience in the Pharmaceutical domain to join our dynamic engineering team in the Raleigh-Durham area. This is a hybrid role requiring three days of onsite collaboration per week. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in modernizing legacy systems and architecting new microservices-based solutions using cutting-edge technologies like Micronaut and Spring Boot.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust, scalable Java applications within a complex pharmaceutical data environment.
- Lead the migration of siloed data stores to centralized PostgreSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and optimized performance.
- Architect and implement microservices using Micronaut for new initiatives while maintaining and upgrading legacy Spring Boot applications.
- Collaborate with junior engineers to provide technical mentorship and establish best practices for complex design concerns.
- Utilize AWS cloud services including S3, Lambda, EC2, and DynamoDB to build cloud-native solutions.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to ensure seamless deployment cycles.
- Leverage AI tooling such as GitHub Copilot to enhance development efficiency and code quality.
- Monitor system health and performance using Splunk and CloudWatch, proactively addressing potential bottlenecks.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional Java development experience for the Senior role (3 years for Mid-level).
- Extensive experience with Spring Boot and a strong interest or experience in Micronaut.
- Proven track record with AWS core services: S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, EC2, ECR, ECS, DynamoDB, and RDS.
- Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL and experience with complex data migration strategies.
- Hands-on experience with Jenkins pipelines and logging tools like Splunk.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in the Pharmaceutical industry is mandatory to understand domain-specific compliance and data structures.

Special Requirements

Compensation & Location
Salary: $50 – $75 per year
