Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic engineering team in Phoenix, AZ. This is a critical role requiring a minimum of 10 years of professional software development experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable applications using the latest Java technologies. This position requires a local candidate who can work onsite four days a week and is comfortable with a mandatory in-person second-round interview.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of robust backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop responsive and interactive user interfaces using JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications through rigorous testing and code reviews.
- Solve complex technical problems and provide innovative solutions to architectural challenges.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Maintain code integrity and organization, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
Technical Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience in Java development.
- Expertise in Spring Boot framework for building microservices.
- Strong proficiency in frontend technologies including JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience with relational databases and SQL.
- Familiarity with modern build tools and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing project requirements.
Work Environment & Expectations
This role is based in Phoenix, Arizona. Candidates must be local to the area as the position requires being in the office four days per week. We value face-to-face collaboration and believe it fosters a more cohesive and productive engineering environment. The interview process includes a mandatory second-round in-person meeting to assess technical depth and cultural fit. Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
