Role Overview: Senior Java Developer with AWS
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with extensive AWS expertise to join a high-impact team in Minneapolis, MN. This onsite position is specifically tailored for candidates with recent and robust experience within the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) domain. As a senior member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex, scalable applications that power critical financial services.
Technical Requirements and Responsibilities
- Java & Microservices: Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework. You will lead the development of microservices architectures, ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability of the codebase.
- AWS Cloud Infrastructure: Leverage a deep understanding of the AWS ecosystem, including EC2 for compute, S3 for storage, RDS for relational databases, and Lambda for serverless functions. You will also manage VPC networking, IAM security policies, and monitoring via CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize Terraform or CloudFormation to provision and manage cloud infrastructure, ensuring consistency and automation across environments.
- Data Processing: Apply knowledge of Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) processes to handle complex data workflows essential for BFSI operations.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Experience with Docker and orchestration tools like ECS or EKS is mandatory for managing containerized application deployments.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Design and implement robust continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines to streamline the software delivery lifecycle.
- Networking & Security: Design secure VPC environments, including subnets, security groups, and NACLs. Implement advanced security measures using KMS and Secrets Manager to protect sensitive financial data.
Domain Expertise and Soft Skills
The ideal candidate must have recent experience in the BFSI sector, understanding the unique regulatory and security challenges associated with financial software. You should possess strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. AWS Certifications such as Solutions Architect, SysOps, or DevOps Engineer are highly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage. This role requires a local candidate who can work onsite in Minneapolis to collaborate effectively with the local team and stakeholders.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $50 – $53 per year
